The Forecasters
John Edowski
Served for 4 years in the US Navy, and 18 years in the US Air Force where he was a weather forecaster. He provided weather support for the space shuttle and was forecaster of the year for Yokota AB Japan as well as twice achieving this accolade at RAF Upper Heyford. Since 1994 he became a self employed forecaster, providing weather data to companies in the private sector. These included radio and television stations, supermarkets, utility companies, local businesses, racing teams, balloonists and light aircraft.
Jim Allen
Is a professional meteorologist and yachtsman whose activities have included, Met Advisor to the Whitbread Round the World Race, the British Admiral’s Cup Team and the Trade Winds Round the World Rally. He has also been a BBC Shipping Forecaster and in recent years his duties have included Senior Met Officer at both Southampton Weather Centre and Met Office Gibraltar.
Simon Keeling
Is a member of the Royal Meteorological Society and has appeared on numerous television and radio programmes both in the UK and overseas. He was met-producer for the weather channel in the States and the first weatherman on Britain’s 24 hour TV weather station. Simon has also presented weather on GMTV, ITV’s flagship breakfast programme before setting up W.C.S. Marine a company that specializes in providing detailed weather forecasts for sailors via the internet or fax.
